YEREVAN EXPECTS RENEWED PROPOSALS ON KARABAKH FROM INTERNATIONAL MEDIATORS
Armenia's attitude towards the international community in the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict has not changed: we work with the OSCE Minsk group and will assert our position in the issue. Armenian foreign minister Vardan Oskanian said in the course of an interactive press conference yesterday. Speaking of the coming visit of the OSCE Minsk group co-chairs to the region of the Karabakh confrontation by May, the minister noted Yerevan expected that the international mediators would provide "not new proposals on the settlement, but maybe renewed versions of the ones being negotiated since the Key West meeting." Answering the question whether the Armenian party's approach to the Karabakh issue was coherent with US president George W. Bush's motto "peace via force", V. Oskanian said, "If president Bush means that to secure peace one should have strong defense, we follow the policy, too."
