First president of Armenia, leader of the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) Levon Ter-Petrossian says that each election in Armenia is worse than the previous one.

“The reason for the current situation in Armenia is that the power is not formed by the people,” he said during his visit to the inter-party headquarters to tackle election forgery.

Ter-Petrossian said would like “to hope for the better”, but the information they receive on electoral violations demonstrates truthfulness of his statement: “unfortunately, each election in Armenia is worse than the preceding one.”

At the same time, opposition leader highly assessed the activities of the inter-party headquarters. “It is time that the confronting forces understand this can no longer continue,” he said adding people should have trust in elections.

“This is not an issue to be tackled by Prosperous Armenia, Dashnaktsutyun or ANC; this is a matter of honor for Armenia,” he emphasized.

Ter-Petrossian also commented on the victory of the current authorities.

“They can persist in protecting their power; but who they are opposing – Dashnaktsutyun? They are gaining a victory over the whole people,” ANC leader stated.
