EUROPEAN COURT CONSIDERS OPPORTUNITY OF HEARING A1+ TV COMPANY SUIT
The European Court Chamber considers the opportunity of organizing hearings based on the complaint of A1+ independent Armenian TV Company on the refusal of issuing a broadcast license to it. As Chairman of the International Union of Advocates Tigran Ter-Yesayan told journalists today, the European Court notified the Armenian Government about it, asking to present its opinion on the issue before September 20. In T. Ter-Yesayan's words, the hearings will not be held only in case the Government advances serious arguments supporting refusal to provide air to A1+ company. In case the European Court arrives at a verdict in favor of A1+, the fact of breaking the right will be registered and losses will be indemnified to the company. However, as noted by T. Ter-Yesayan, the European Court is not entitled to make the respective Armenian structures restore the A1+ company right to broadcasting.
