WORKING GROUP TO SPECIFY LISTS OF POLICY OWNERS, KILLED IN ARMENIAN GENOCIDE IN OTTOMAN TURKEY, FORMED
The working group, formed under the Minister of Justice of Armenia, deals with the problem of specifying the lists of New York Life Insurance company - the names, surnames, names of residence places in Latin are replaced with Armenian versions. Press Secretary of the Ministry of Justice Ara Saghatelian stated it, noting that a task is set to create a civil information system, via which the process of getting compensations will become public. In his words, after the press conference many appeals were received from citizens of the CIS countries and the US. It should be noted that there are 2300 persons in New York Life Insurance lists. It should be reminded that in compliance with the agreement on applications over policies of the company some $11 million is planned to be paid to the descendants of those, who had the policies and were killed during the Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Turkey in early last century.
