ARMENIAN PRESIDENT AND FINNISH FOREIGN MINISTER DISCUSSED SITUATION IN SOUTH CAUCASUS
Armenian President Robert Kocharian today received Minister of Foreign Affairs of Finland Erkki Tuomioja, who is in the South Caucasian countries within a regional visit. As reported by the Press Service of the Armenian leader, R. Kocharian noted the importance of the visit of the Finnish foreign department head both within Armenia's European policy and within the context of activation of bilateral political and economic ties. In the course of the meeting the Armenian President and the Finnish minister discussed the situation in the South Caucasian region. The parties agreed upon the importance of inclusion of the countries of the region into the EU Wider Europe: New Neighbors Program. Besides, the interlocutors exchanged views on the developments in the region, specifically discussing the Karabakh conflict settlement and questions of Armenia-Turkey relations.
