No new countries have sought the Collective Security Treaty Organization membership so far, CSTO Secretary General said.
As Nikolai Bordyuzha told a news conference in Yerevan, “the Organization only needs reliable partners to promote its growth, rather than hinder its progress.”
CSTO chief further named 2 main directions for expansion of cooperation the Organization follows: attracting new partners for struggle against drug trafficking, with 22 countries already participating in joint actions, as well as cooperation with international organizations.
As he noted, representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross are involved in Armenia-hosted military drill.
“At present, information security provision, creation of rapid reaction forces for outreach in anthropogenic and natural crises are key issues on CSTO agenda along with military cooperation,” Bordyuzha said.
