Armenian President Robert Kocharian met governor of the Sverdlovsk Oblast of Russia Eduard Rossel. During the meeting Robert Kocharian expressed satisfactions with the act that the visit of the delegation is proceeding on the threshold of the opening of the Year of Russia in Armenia. When commenting on the cooperation with the RF Robert Kocharian stated it as strategic and promising. Robert Kocharian recollected the first meeting with Eduard Rossel in 1998 and noted that after the devastating earthquake a brigade of builders headed by Eduard Rossel arrived in Armenia to reconstruct the ruined city of Leninakan. Eduard Rossel told about the life in the Middle Ural and pointed out to its dynamic development in accord with the strategic program to be carried out till 2015. The program provides for technical re-equipment of industry and restoration of economic ties with the CIS states. Eduard Rossel gave a high estimation to the negotiations held with Armenian Prime Minister Andranik Margarian. When touching upon the Year of Armenia in Russia, Eduard Rossel suggested conduction of the Days of Sverdlovsk Oblast, what was heartily accepted. Robert Kocharian said he is convinced that the cooperation with the Sverdlovsk Oblast will contribute to the further development and consolidation of the Russian-Armenian ties.
