ANC rep. dubs Oskanian money laundering case “cheap show”

Armenian National Congress (ANC) opposition bloc member, MP Nikol Pashinyan dubbed the ex-foreign minister Vartan Oskanian’s Civilitas Foundation money laundering case as a leadership-organized “cheap show.”

As the oppositionist said, the stir around the Prosperous Armenia member Oskanian will eventually lead to the replacement of a coalitional government with the government of national unity. “Thus, the sworn enemies – former partners – will reunite,” he explained.

“Defending the perpetrators of March 1, 2008 events is out of the question. To me, Vartan Oskanian, Robert Kocharian and Serzh Sargsyan are members of a criminal group which had ordered the shooting of people in 2008,” Pashinyan said.

On September 27, Armenia’s Prosecutor General Aghvan Hovsepyan addressed the National Assembly with a proposal to deprive ex-minister Vartan Oskanian of his congressional immunity over the money-laundering charges against Civilitas Foundation.
