Paper: Vice PM Armen Gevorgyan seeks Prime Minister’s post?

According to Zhamanak daily, the candidacy of the future Prime Minister was discussed at the Prosperous Armenia party leadership meeting.

“At the meeting, Prosperous Armenia leader Gagik Tsarkyan urged to continue with the criticism of current Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan’s economic policy.

Tsarukyan also instructed the party members to name Vice Prime Minister, Territorial Administration Minister Armen Gevorgyan as a preferable candidate for the prime ministerial post,” the daily said.

The party’s spokesman, however, refuted the report above in a conversation with the daily’s reporter, denying the meeting described ever took place.
