Monitors with the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) have described the Georgian parliamentary elections as free, Voice of Russia said, citing Reuters.

On October 1, Georgia elected its 150 members of parliament, who will serve four-year terms.

The vote attracted widespread attention due to the fact that reforms, which are to take effect after presidential elections next year, will hand more power to parliament and the prime minister.
