ARMENIAN OPPOSITION MEETINGS ORGANIZED RATHER WELL, PACE OBSERVATION MISSION HEAD CONSIDERS
The meetings of the Armenian opposition were organized rather well. As reported by "Arka" agency, said head of the observation mission of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, former PACE chairman Lord Russell-Johnston. He reported that in the course of today's meeting with Armenian president Robert Kocharian the issue of arrests of opposition representatives was discussed. "It is hard for a foreign observer to give an assessment on the occasion. On the other hand it is difficult to decide precisely in a concrete case whether the meeting participants represent danger to public order and security taking into account Armenia's previous experience," - he added.
