Stephenie Meyer has hinted that she may yet return to the Twilight series, Digital Spy said citing RTE.
The final film in the series, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2, is set to be released this month, but it may not prove to be the final entry in the teen vampire saga.
Meyer admitted at a press conference that she has already planned out a continuation of the story of Bella and Edward.
When asked if she had any plans to return to the phenomenally popular series, she replied: "I wouldn't say no absolutely. I'm not going to do it today, but I don't know how I'm going to feel in five years."
She added: "I planned out where it would go for a couple more books... there are other characters who I think would have a lot of voice in those coming stories.
"Maybe someday, I'll write it out just for myself. We'll see."
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 is currently the official end to the film series, and reportedly has a different ending from the book.
Star Robert Pattinson has described the ending to the film as "bizarre".
