ARMENIAN CHURCH TO BE BUILT IN RUSSIAN CHITA
The construction works of an Armenian Apostolic Church will soon begin in the Russian city of Chita, reported the Yerkramas, the newspaper of Armenians of Russia. At present leaders of the Union of Armenians of Transbaikalia that unites the Armenian population of Chita region negotiate with city authorities on allocation of a lot for the building. In the words of Chairman of the Union of Armenians of Transbaikalia Vladimir Markosian, the construction works will begin right after the city provides land. "Voluntary donations of the Armenian Diaspora form the basis of the financing," he noted.
