AVAILABILITY OF SERIOUS VIOLATIONS DOES NOT LET EVALUATE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS POSITIVELY, LORD RUSSEL JOHNSTON SAID
The elections of the president of Armenia were held in a rather organized fashion, but the availability of serious violations does not let evaluate their course as positive on the whole. Head of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe observation mission lord Russel Johnston stated at a press conference today. In his words, Armenia is able to hold elections without shortcomings, "nevertheless there are people, who are still trying to hamper that." "I think there are not many people of the kind, but I cannot be sure," - Johnston emphasized. Thereupon he noted that it was not possible to evaluate the degree to which transgressions influenced the results of the elections, "as it is not known how many failures have remained unrevealed."
