CIS OBSERVERS ANNOUNCED ARMENIAN ELECTIONS "FREE, DEMOCRATIC AND LEGITIMATE"
Today in Yerevan the CIS observation mission published an announcement, which qualified the presidential elections held in Armenia February 19 as "free, transparent, democratic, fair and legitimate". "We have discovered some transgressions made by electoral commissions, some parties and unions in the course of the electoral agitation, as well as during the voting process and counting the votes," - the document says. Nevertheless, as reported by "Mediamax" agency, observers noted that "these breaches were not of mass nature and did not have any notable impact on the free choice of the constituents." 60 CIS observers, who visited 277 polling stations, were monitoring the presidential elections in Armenia.
