Iran has allocated a $1 billion loan for Syria to develop its energy sphere.

An agreement to this effect was signed after Syrian Prime Minister Wael al-Halqi’s visit to Tehran.

Half of the sum will go to the construction of new wind power plants in Syria.

The parties also inked seven energy deals, namely on Iran funding the construction of a power plant in Syria and supplying energy to the country, foreign media report.
