Levon Aronian retains 2nd spot in FIDE rankings

On May 1, FIDE published the list of strongest chess players of the world, with Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian retaining second spot with 2813 points.

Magnus Carlsen (Norway) tops the list with 2868 points; Russia’s Vladimir Kramnik is 3rd with 2811 points.

Armenian grandmaster Vladimir Akopian climbed 39th; Sergei Movsesian is 57th; Gabriel Sargissian is 76th.
