Baku Going to Include Karabakh Issue into OSCE PA Agenda
The Nagorno Karabakh issue may be included into the agenda of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Winter Session to be held in Vienna in February 2006, member of Azerbaijani permanent committee in the OSCE PA, chairperson of the Milli Mejlis (MM) Committee on Human Rights Rabiyat Aslanova stated. In her words, the new Azerbaijani delegation "will endeavor to bring the issue up for discussion and prove who is the real aggressor." Rabiyat Aslanova noted that though she was not present at the OSCE PA Session in Washington she is aware of the developments. She also said she feels regret over the report on Nagorno Karabakh by rapporteur Goran Lennmarker.

The MM committee chairperson noted that any document inadmissible for Azerbaijan cannot be brought up for discussion or admitted. Taking this fact into account Ms. Aslanova considers that the organization that has undertaken the mission and its rapporteur should hold a "fair position". "It's time for eliminating double standards. I want to stress that during recent 5 years our delegation demanded the Karabakh issue be discussed at OSCE PA Sessions. We have been pressing for fair attitude of the European parliamentarians towards the Karabakh issue. Each Azerbaijani with the sense of dignity, each deputy and politician should assist in the resolution of the problem Thus the goal of the Azerbaijani delegation to the OSCE PA is to bring the Nagorno Karabakh conflict to the discussion during one of the sessions. The Azerbaijani society expects the international community to undertake precise measures for the conflict settlement," reported the 525th newspaper.
