Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II met on May 23 with outgoing Swiss ambassador Konstantin Obolensky.

Catholicos Karekin II thanked the envoy for the contribution to the strengthening of Armenian-Swiss relations, stressing the importance of further development of ties between the two countries. He hailed Switzerland’s warm attitude towards the Armenian community.

Karekin II also gave positive assessment to Swiss efforts in the settlement of regional problems.

Religious leaders’ efforts in the establishment of peace in the region and Armenian Genocide 100th anniversary commemorative events were further discussed.
