Armenian defense ministry released details regarding the incident in Yerevan’s Vazgen Sargsyan military institute. According to the ministry, third year student Armen Melkumyan opened fire at his classmate Sipan Movsisyan, who was taken to Grigor Lusavorich medical center. He later died of the gunshot wound.

A criminal case has been instigated on the case. According to preliminary information, an argument is cited as the reason behind the incident.
