Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom has unveiled a new poster. The promo artwork for the biopic declares star Idris Elba a "trouble maker", Digital Spy said.

Based on the autobiography of the same name, the film will chart Nelson Mandela's life from an early age.

It will follow his activism against the South African regime, followed by his 27 years in prison, his eventual release and ascension to the position of President.

Naomie Harris will star alongside Elba as Winnie Mandela.

Tony Kgoroge, Riaad Moosa, Zolani Mkiva, Jamie Bartlett, Lindiwe Matshikiza, Deon Lotz and Terry Pheto will also feature in the Justin Chadwick-directed movie.

Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom is scheduled for a limited US release on November 29. It will arrive in the UK on January 3, 2014.
