Oscar-nommed “Bridesmaids” helmer working on female spy flick

Paul Feig has begun developing Susan Cooper. The Bridesmaids director is working on the film which is intended to launch a female spy franchise at 20th Century Fox, Digital Spy reported citing The Wrap.

The comedy is said to be more in line with the serious elements of James Bond than a spoof spy movie like Johnny English.

Feig is currently searching for a female lead for Susan Cooper.

The director also wrote the script and will produce through his Feigco Entertainment banner's first look deal at Fox.

Feig's next film - the Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy-starring The Heat - will be released in the U.S. on June 28, and in the UK on July 31.
