Experts: Armenia, EU won’t abandon partnership plans in Vilnius

Deputy parliament speaker Eduard Sharmazanov believes that an EU-Armenia statement will be adopted at the Eastern Partnership summit in Vilnius. The document, he noted, will mention the recent Yerevan-implemented reforms and suggest continuation of Armenia’s dialogue with its European partners.

As Sharmazanov said in this context, Moscow and Brussels seem to have reached an understanding in the European integration issue.

A political analyst Alexander Iskandaryan, in turn, noted that following the summit, neither Europe will abandon its partnership with Armenia, nor will Yerevan refuse from its Europe-related policy.

According to the expert, the stance above will be confirmed through some sort of a document at the Vilnius-hosted event.

Also, he said, the Armenia-EU association agreement that took 3,5 years to draft , may serve as a basis for cooperation on a new level, Novosti-Armenia reported.
