Large explosion reported near U.S. embassy in Kabul

A large explosion rocked central Kabul on Thursday, Dec 12, triggering the U.S. embassy’s "duck and cover" alarm, although there was no immediate confirmation of the exact location of the incident or any casualties, according to AFP.

The apparent attack came the day after a Taliban suicide bomber detonated an explosives-laden vehicle near a NATO military convoy entering the city’s airport, killing himself but causing no other deaths or injuries.
