Samsung to unveil improved 2014 Smart TVs with finger controls

Samsung has revealed that its 2014 Smart TVs will receive improved motion controls, Digital Spy reported.

The South Korean company's latest technology will allow users to change channels, pause films and more with a simple finger gesture.

It will also be possible to adjust the volume as well as selecting options on screen, such as apps.

To make it easier for the user, Samsung's next-generation Smart TVs will recognise an anticlockwise finger gesture that can go back to the previous page or stop the video.

In addition, the firm is expanding its Voice Interaction service to a total of 23 countries so that customers can say which channel they want to watch.

"Samsung's 2014 Smart TV models deliver significantly improved voice interaction and motion control features so that our consumers will be able to enjoy our Smart TV more intuitively," senior vice president Kyungshik Lee said.

"We will continue to develop content that integrates voice and motion recognition for added convenience."

The improvements are due to be showcased at the CES 2014 show, held in Las Vegas between January 7 and 10.
