Gallup poll: Karabakh people happiest in South Caucasus

Gullup public opinion research company released a rating of worldwide perceptions of well-being.

In a new poll covering 135 countries, Karabakh, with 14% of happy population, shares 75-80th spots with Macedonia, South Korea, Romania, Moldova, Jordan and Iran.

According to the poll, the populations of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia proved less happy with 8, 9, 11 and 7% respectively. Azerbaijan and Armenia were ranked 111th and 112th.

Panama was ranked first on subjective well-being (with 61% of happy population), followed by Kosta-Rika (44%) and Denmark (40%). Six of the top 10 countries are in Latin America.

Overall, countries in the Americas and Northern Europe rank highest, while Syria and Afghanistan rank last.
