"Gotham" drama series given full season order at FOX

For consistently posting record ratings, "Gotham" is given a full season order. The "Batman" prequel had previously scored a 16-episode order and is now given a back order for an additional six episodes, bringing the total to 22 episodes, AceShowbiz said.

"Gotham debuted as one of the most buzzed-about shows of the fall, and with good reason," said Fox TV Group chairmen Dana Walden and Gary Newman. "Bruno Heller and Danny Cannon have created an incredibly rich world, with characters that draw you in and a cast that brings to life these heroes and villains in a way we've never seen before."

"Gotham" scored 6.0 rating among adults 18-49, making it Monday', Oct 13 highest-rated drama. Walden and Newman added, "We are so excited to see where Bruno, Danny and the entire Gotham team take this story over the course of this season, and so thankful to all the fans who have embraced it this fall."

Next week, "Viper" will see Oswald Cobblepot a.k.a. Penguin's effort in returning to the scene with the help of Sal Maroni. Preview for the episode shows that Maroni is not an easy guy that Cobblepot can take advantage on. There's also a scene where young Bruce Wayne leaps from on top of his mansion, an act that he hesitantly did earlier in the season.

Meanwhile, Fish Mooney will continue to plot against Falcone. Gordon and Bullock will search for the source of a new street drug that causes euphoria then death. "Viper" airs October 20 at 8 P.M. ET on FOX.
