Armenian civilian wounded by Azeri sniper fire

A resident of Berkaber border village in Tavush province of Armenia was wounded by a shot from the Azerbaijani positions.

As Aysor.am reports citing the village administration head Artur Madatyan, “it was definitely a sniper fire.”

“The incident took place near the village’s reservoir, which is located near to the Azeri positions,” Madatyan said.

“The man was wounded in both legs and the fire didn’t stop when the villagers were trying to help him. Fortunately, no bone was damaged and now he is in hospital of Ijevan town,” Madatyan added.

The border villages of Tavush province often come under fire. The Azeri armed forces shell gardens, schools and kindergartens. Currently, stone walls are being built along some border sectors to protect civilians from attacks.
