Polaroid unveils Bluetooth mobile printer at CES

Polaroid is trying a modern take on its founding business model: instant film cameras, Digital Spy reports.

The company has unveiled its new Polaroid Zip device, which prints photos from iOS and Android devices instantly, at CES this week.

All users have to do is download a free app and connect to Zip via Bluetooth 4.0 or NFC to get small 2x3-inch prints.

The app also provides a range of editing options, including filters, frames, stamps and stickers, as well as a business card-making tool.

Zip comes in the form of a small inch-thick box weighing 186 grams, and uses Polaroid's Zink zero-ink printing paper, which comes with cyan, yellow and magenta dye crystals so you'll never need a cartridge.

A rechargeable battery is also on board, capable of printing up to 25 images on a full charge.

Polaroid Zip will be available from spring at $130.
