Facebook rolls out nostalgia feature On This Day

Facebook is making it easier for users to look back at photos and memories on the social network with a new feature, Digital Spy reveals.

On This Day shows everything from statuses to photos you were tagged in on any set date.

Users can go as far back as they like and can only see the content privately unless they decide to share it with friends.

Facebook first began testing the feature a few years ago and is now rolling it out to all users on desktop and mobile.

It's also possible to sign up for notifications so members will check back regularly, much like Timehop which offers a similar service on Facebook already.

According to TechCrunch, Facebook will try to filter out potentially painful posts such as those including past relationships - provided you actually declared your relationships on the social network. It will also try to avoid including posts tagged with people who have died in the past year.
