Julianne Moore dropped by Turkish tourist board over "poor acting"

Julianne Moore may have won this year's Best Actress Oscar, but it appears that Turkey's tourism board was less impressed with her acting abilities, Digital Spy reports.

The Still Alice and Seventh Son star was hired by the board to front a new tourism campaign titled 'Home Of', but officials were unimpressed with the footage and asked the actress to reshoot.

The advert featured Moore on a plane reminiscing about a childhood trip to Turkey.

According to the Hürriyet Daily News (via The Guardian), she turned down a request to reshoot the advert and was consequently dropped from the project.

It is thought that some members of the board were unhappy with Moore's apparent "poor acting" skills in the original footage.

Moore was the big winner during the recent movie awards season, sweeping the boards for her performance in Still Alice as a woman facing early onset Alzheimer's Disease.

She paid tribute to those who feel "isolated and marginalised" by the disease during her Oscars acceptance speech in February.
