Davutoglu “mortified” over Russian, French leaders’ visit to Yerevan

The attendance of the Russian and French presidents at the Armenian Genocide commemoration event will cast a shadow on the Minsk Group's impartiality, said Turkish prime minister late on Thursday, April 23.

According to Anadolu Agency, the remarks of Ahmet Davutoglu came before the visit of Vladimir Putin and Francois Hollande to Armenia's capital, Yerevan.

Touching upon Putin’s statement on the Armenian Genocide, Davutoglu said he is in touch with the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu and "necessary steps" will be taken in this regard.

Regarding the German parliament's motion about the 1915 events, Davutoglu said it is "unacceptable."

Davutoglu spoke over the phone with German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Tuesday to discuss the motion submitted to the German parliament, deputy government spokeswoman Christine Wirtz said Wednesday.
