Boston Judge Assistant William Porter stood against the suit brought by the Turkish organizations with a demand to include the materials denying the Armenian Genocide into the curriculum of Massachusetts schools. Porter said the "argument" of the Turkish organizations regarding freedom of speech doesn't refer to the position of the government and according to the Law on Limitations the case should be dropped. Besides, Porter added, the Assembly of Turkish organizations of America had no basis for producing a suit, since "pupils and teachers can familiarize themselves with the materials denying the Genocide from the sources not included in the school curriculum." To remind, the Assembly of Turkish organizations of America brought a suit against the decision by the department on Massachusetts education issues, according to which the materials denying the Armenian Genocide were withdrawn from the school curriculum. The Assembly described the decision and "censorship" and "violation of freedom of speech", reported Yerkir.
