OSCE MG Co-chair: Karabakh, Baku could cooperate on Sarsang reservoir

The joint use of water from Sarsang reservoir can serve as the basis for cooperation between the Nagorno Karabakh Republic and Azerbaijan, OSCE Minsk Group U.S. Co-chair James Warlick said in his Instagram post, commenting on a photo he made.

“Do you know where I am? I took this photo last year with the Co-chairs. We need to ensure that the reservoir continues to provide safe reliable power to the population of Nagorno Karabakh. It's also important that the dam is safe and that those downstream in Azerbaijan have water when it is needed. Why can't the sides cooperate when it is in their mutual interest? This is a win-win and we are ready to help,” Warlick said.

“Abraham Lincoln brought us from war to reconciliation rising above politics and beginning a new chapter in our history. Is there a courageous Abraham Lincoln in Armenia or Azerbaijan who is prepared to bring peace and reconciliation? Are the people of the region ready to live side by side in peace, security, and prosperity?” he said in another post.
