Adele's “Hello” breaks 1-billion-view record on Vevo

Adele's has just broken another record with her hit "Hello". Vevo announced on Monday, January 18 that the official music video for the British songbird's comeback single had reached 1 billion views on the service and become the fastest to do so, AceShowbiz reports.

Directed by filmmaker Xavier Dolan, the visuals was made available on Adele's Vevo channel about three months ago. Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth's "See You Again", which previously held the Vevo record, needed six months to cross the 1 billion mark last year.

This is hardly the first time the "Hello" video has broken a Vevo record. Following its release in October, it garnered 100 million plays in only five days. That's, according to a statement from YouTube, "a milestone it takes most major music videos months to achieve."

The song's parent album "25" has also been a massive success, both critically and commercially. It spent seven weeks at No. 1 on Billboard 200, three of which were with more than 1 million copies sold. Recently, it slipped to No. 2 when David Bowie's "Blackstar" debuted atop the chart following his death.
