The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) is trying to ignore all principles, including those of the OSCE, the head of the OSCE Office in Yerevan said Wednesday, January 27, commenting on PACE’s adoption of an anti-Armenian resolution on Sarsang Reservoir in Nagorno Karabakh.

In a vote of 70-66, the Parliamentary Asembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) on January 26 disapproved the anti-Armenian report “Escalation of violence in Nagorno Karabakh and other occupied territories of Azerbaijan” prepared by British parliamentarian Robert Walter from the PACE Committee on Political Affairs.

PACE, however, adopted another anti-Armenian report, “Inhabitants of Frontier Regions of Azerbaijan are Deliberately Deprived of Water” by Milica Markovic from Bosnia and Herzegovina, in a vote of 98-71.

“Removing one of the anti-Armenian resolutions from the agenda, however, is already a victory,” Andrey Sorokin said, according to Panorama.am.

Germany’s ambassador to Armenia refrained from commenting on the vote, stressing that “the OSCE Mission is the only acceptable format mandated to tackle the Karabakh conflict.”
