In 2015, in the frames of Vivacell-MTS’ housing project, two families in the village of Shatin in Armenia’s Vayots Dzor province renovated the roofs of their houses, with another family completing the construction of its half-built home.
VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian and Fuller Center for Housing President Ashot Yeghiazaryan visited Shatin community to celebrate housewarming with the happy families.
For years, the Gyulnazaryan family of 7 had been living in a rock slide zone without basic housing conditions. In 2008, they started the construction of a house in a secure area of the village, but were unable to complete it.
“The dream of many years has become true, and my family finally gets a safe and decent home,” said Seryozha, the grandfather of the family.
“The happiness of these people, their eyes and smiles inspire us to keep up with the work we have started,” Yirikian noted. “They prove we are on the right track, so we are ready to go all the way through to giving a chance of a decent life to more families.”
“In 2015, 40 families restarted their lives thanks to the jointly implemented housing project. Each renovated or constructed house gives hope to families, ridding them of the inferiority complex,” Yeghiazaryan said, in turn.
Since 2007, VivaCell-MTS has contributed AMD 228.3 million for the basic reconstruction or renovation of houses thus improving the life quality of 480 people with social needs in 31 villages in 10 provinces of the country.
