PACE resolution unprecedented for Armenia from point of view of positive accents
Armenian Parliament Speaker Tigran Torosyan considers as unprecedented positive the resolution, which was adopted by PACE on fulfilling its commitments by Armenia taken in front of Council of Europe. "As hard some people tried to distort this resolution or to explain it in other way, I repeat, that the last resolution is unprecedented for Armenia from the point of view of positive accents," Torosyan said. "It does not mean that Armenia does not have shortages and that the country has fulfilled all commitments. Just the opposite, the resolution, recording progress in fulfilling obligations, indicates a number of problems, which Armenia must settle in the near future. Alongside, the document fixes a number of shortages," Torosyan stressed.
On the whole, estimating the 4-year activity of the Armenian delegation to PACE, Torosyan underscored that the majority of the members of delegation has been working effectively. He reminded during the activity period of the current delegation resolutions on the Nagorno Karabakh, Issues of Refugees in Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan, as well as a resolution on "Stability Pact in the South Caucasus" were adopted.
