Armenian sappers may join demining activities in Palmyra

Moscow and Yerevan discussed the possibility of involving sappers of the Russian-Armenian Center for Humanitarian Response in demining activities in Syria’s Palmyra, Russia’s Foreign Minister said Friday, April 22.

“The center was launched just recently, and we are already discussing the possibility,” Sergey Lavrov said.

Lavrov further expressed Russia's support for the plan of priorities of Armenia’s chairmanship in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).

“We especially appreciate Armenia’s proposals aimed at improving the efficiency of CSTO allies’ activities to combat terrorism and boost the military-technical cooperation,” Lavrov added.
