Two Karabakh soldiers killed in Azerbaijan’s ceasefire violations

80 ceasefire violations by the Azerbaijani side were registered on the contact line with Nagorno Karabakh overnight on April 25-26, a spokesperson for the Armenian Foreign Ministry said Tuesday, April 26.

According to Artsrun Hovhannisyan, the Azerbaijani side used almost every type of artillery asset and armored vehicle it possesses, including 60- and 82-mm mortars, RPG-7, AGM-9, AGS-17 grenade launchers, ZU-32-2 anti-aircraft autocannon and a TR-107 rocket launcher.

In addition to opening fire on military positions, Azerbaijan used MM-21 Grad multiple rocket launcher to shell the settlement of Martakert. Mataghis too fell under artillery fire.

Two Karabakh contract soldiers, Tigran Poghosyan (b. 1992) and Aram Arushanyan (b. 1972) were lethally wounded in Azerbaijan’s ceasefire violations.

To neutralize the rival’s aggression, the Nagorno Karabakh Defense Army carried out targeted strikes on Azerbaijan’s positions, causing major manpower and equipment losses.

The situation is currently relatively calm along the contact line.
