Number of child beggars, homeless kids decreases in Armenia

The number of homeless kids and child beggars decreased in Armenia in 2015 as compared to the previous year, the National Statistical Service of Armenia reports.

According to Armenia’s Police, 8 child beggars and homeless children – all of them boys – were identified in Armenia as of late 2015.

The data of the National Statistical Service indicate that four children were found in Yerevan, two of them under 14, one aged 14-15, and a 16-18-year-old one.

The rest of child beggars were registered in Lori and Shirak provinces. According to the data, the number of homeless and beggar children in Armenia was 20 in 2010, 15 in 2011, 16 in 2012, 13 in 2013, and 7 in 2014.
