Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian and his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif on Sunday, June 5 signed an agreement on abolishing visas.

Stressing the importance of bilateral ties, both parties agreed that Iranian President’s upcoming visit to Armenia will further boost the development of cooperation between the two countries.

At the meeting, the foreign policy chiefs discussed the development of cooperation in trade, energy, transport, agriculture, education, health, culture, environment and tourism sectors, as well as business partnership between the two states.

In addition, the parties weighed in on Iran’s cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Union, also addressing the Middle East crisis, fight against terrorism, implementation of projects following the Iran nuclear deal.

Also, Nalbandian briefed Zarif on Armenia’s steps aimed at overcoming the consequences of the four-day war, unleashed by Azerbaijan against Nagorno Karabakh.

Prior to this, Nalbandian met with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.
