Establishing a mechanism to investigate ceasefire violations will provide a good basis for negotiations on the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said in Saint Petersburg on Monday, June 20.
“Our position on Karabakh is known to everybody,” Sargsyan said as he met with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“We seek to have an exclusively peaceful settlement of the conflict. But, unfortunately, such issues can never be resolved at the will of just one of the sides. And we’d be pleased if we could today make progress on the implementation of previously reached agreements, including the establishment of mechanisms to investigate ceasefire violations.”
Putin agreed to discuss all the issues at a tripartite summit with Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev.
