Karabakh meeting provides temporary peace on contact line: MP

The Saint Petersburg-hosted meeting of Armenian, Azerbaijani and Russian Presidents led to temporary peace, an MP from Armenia's ruling Republican Party said Wednesday, June 22.

Serzh Sargsyan, Ilham Aliyev and Vladimir Putin met Monday to address the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement.

“The summit was constructive and useful in that it provided an opportunity to maintain ceasefire,” Gagik Melikyan said.

“Following the meeting, the French envoy said that Paris will host the next summit. After the April hostilities, Azerbaijan realized it can’t attack Nagorno Karabakh and achieve victory.”

According to the MP, Turkey backs Azerbaijan and incited the 4-day war in early April.
