Victor Zubkov appointed Russia's Prime Minister
Russian President Vladimir Putin signed an edict on appointing Victor Zubkov Prime Minister. His candidacy was confirmed by Russian Duma with 381 votes.

Zubkov announced of necessity of formation of a special agency for combating corruption, promised to lower taxes and named the military-industrial sector a strategic objective. He also warned of reorganization of the Cabinet, Echo of Moscow reports.
