PACE to observe parliamentary elections in Armenia

A 22-member delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), led by Liliane Maury-Pasquier (Switzerland, SOC), will travel to Armenia to observe the parliamentary elections on April 2, alongside observers from the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, the European Parliament and the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), PACE said in a statement.

The delegation will meet, in particular, with the chair of the Central Electoral Commission, the minister of justice and representatives of the main political parties, as well as representatives of NGOs and the media, before observing the ballot on April 2.

A press conference is scheduled in Yerevan on Monday April, 3, PACE added.

Nine parties and blocs running for seats at the National Assembly have launched campaigns.
