November 21 the Armenian Central Election Committee started registration of presidential candidates. Applications will be accepted till December 6, 2007. Registration will be conducted from December 31 to January 5. The election campaign will kick off January 21 and will finish February 17.

Armenian Prime Minister, Chairman of the Republic Party of Armenia Serge Sargsyan, Armenia's first President Levon Ter-Petrosyan, National Democratic Union leader Vazgen Manukian, Orinats Yerkir party leader Artur Baghdassaryan, ALM Holding president Tigran Karapetyan and Marxist party leader David Hakobyan have already announced their candidacy.

Armenia will hold presidential elections February 19, 2008.
