Armenia prime minister says has no intention to resign

Armenian prime minister Karen Karapetyan said on Monday, June 12 that he has no desire to resign.

Media reports speculated that Karapetyan had submitted two resignation letters but that president Serzh Sargsyan had rejected them both. President Sargsyan and spokesman for the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Eduard Sharmazanov refuted the allegations.

“I have no idea who has been disseminating such claims,” Karapetyan said, adding that he has never had such a desire.

Also, the prime minister refuted having disagreements with Sargsyan.

The latter too weighed in on the issue earlier, claiming to have normal working relations with the prime minister.
