The Russian Aerospace Forces (RuAF) have conducted strikes against a massive Islamic State convoy heading towards the city of Deir ez-Zor, killing hundreds of militants and destroying scores of vehicles in the process, Al-Masdar News reports citing a statement by the Russian Ministry of Defence.
The official statement claims that Russian jets, attacking a long convoy of IS vehicles that were seen to be retreating towards Deir ez-Zor city, killed over 200 terrorist militants.
Furthermore, the Russian ministry says that RuAF airstrikes against the convoy also destroyed twenty special utility vehicles (SUVs) with large-caliber weapons and mortars as well as a number of armored vehicles including tanks.
