Protest actions resume several hours after emergency rule lift
Several hours after the lift of the state of emergency, hundreds of Yerevan citizens with candles, black ribbons and portraits of those arrested and killed on March 1 and 2 took the streets toward Liberty Square. Their march was stopped by policemen armed with batons and shields, who surrounded the Square.

Presently, the number of demonstrators doesn't exceed a thousand, mostly women and youth.

Silent protest march is expected to extend from Liberty Square up to the monument to Alexander Myasnikyan at the French Embassy. The demonstrators are instructed not to block the traffic, walk at 1-meter distance and have a photo of a political prisoner and candles. They were also told to tape the mouth to protest limitations on media freedom.

The action initiators called not to yield to provocation and refrain from offending policemen and journalists, Armenia Today reports.
